Dan Hutchins, Partner Emeritus

Dan earned his bachelor degree in accounting from in Topeka in 1978 and earned a Specialist Accreditation as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) by the AICPA.

Dan has 30 years of public accounting experience, including five years with Deloitte & Touche, LLP. He has assisted in the startup, operations and sale or acquisition of many small businesses. Dan currently serves on the board of directors of two publicly traded companies he has worked with from inception, Digital Ally (DGLY) and Infinity Energy Resources (IFNY.PK). Dan also serves on the Board of Directors of Argentine Federal Savings. He enjoys working with a diversified client base in taxation, financial planning, wealth management services and consulting in general business and financing activities.

Dan has served on the board of various non-profit groups and foundations. He is a trustee and board member for the Washburn University Foundation and various private trusts and foundations.


Dan has served as an instructor for the Becker CPA exam with the Keller Graduate School of Management and has over 17 years of teaching experience preparing candidates for the CPA exam.

Dan Haake, Partner Emeritus

Dan Haake received his accounting degree from Rockhurst University. He began his career as a Revenue Agent for the Internal Revenue Service auditing Income Tax Returns for individuals, businesses and trusts.

Dan began the practice of public accounting in 1976, providing services in the areas of Tax Compliance and Consulting, Financial Wealth Management and General Business Consulting. Dan has assisted many clients in the sale and acquisition of businesses.

Dan's civic activities include membership in the Greater Kansas City Estate Planning Council, the Planned Giving Committees for Children's Mercy Hospital, Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Kansas City University for Medicine and Bioscience and Donnelly College. He is a past President of the Honorary Directors of Rockhurst University. Dan also serves on the Boards of Directors for Kansas University of Medicine and Bioscience, and Donnelly College as Board Chairman.

Dan is on the Board of the Eastern Kansas Royalty Owners Association, and is a member of the National Association of Royalty Owners, Southwest Kansas Royalty Owners, Oklahoma Royalty Owners Associations, and the American Association of Professional Landmen.

Liz Golway, CPA, PFS - Director of Tax and Accounting

Liz received her accounting degree from Rockhurst University in 1997. She has been with the firm for the past sixteen years. Liz oversees accounting and tax compliance. She is a CPA, QuickBooks Professional Adviser and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and has a Specialist Accreditation as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) by the AICPA.

Chad Allen, CPA.CITP - Director of Audit & Attest Services

Chad received his accounting degree from the University of Kansas in 2001 and has provided assurance services with firms in the Kansas City area his entire career.

Chad is a member of the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants (KSCPA). He is presently serving a one year term as the Chairman of the Board of the KSCPA and serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. Additionally, Chad serves on the Board of Directors for the KSCPA Metro Chapter, and is a Past President of the Chapter. He is also an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and serves as a member of Council for the AICPA. Chad has additionally received the Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) credential from the AICPA.

Chad was one of 37 individuals selected from across the U.S. for the 2013 AICPA Leadership Academy, and was a member of the 2011 class of the KSCPA’s "20 Up To 40” Leadership Program. Along with his wife, Gillian, Chad co-founded the McSwain Foundation, a non-profit created to benefit the Lawrence, KS fire department and community. He also served two years as chairman of a fundraising committee for the Gillis Home, a Kansas City non-profit serving 1,600 families each year. Chad is an avid Jayhawks, Royals and Chiefs fan, and enjoys golf, running, classic cars and live jazz. Chad and his wife Gillian live in Lawrence with their 2 children.

Lisa Oxley, CPA

Lisa graduated from the Rawls College of Business Administration at Texas Tech University with her accounting degree in 2008. She then continued on to The University of Kansas to receive her Masters of Science in Accounting in 2010.

She previously practiced as a Certified Public Accountant for BKD and spent a short time in private accounting. She has experience in business, not-for-profit and individual taxation. Lisa is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Samuel Smith, CPA

Sam earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Ottawa University and his Master of Accounting degree from the University of Kansas.He specializes in tax and financial consulting for high net worth individuals and small business tax compliance.

He began practicing accounting in 2010 and his experience as a Certified Public Accountant includes working for RSM, one of the largest accounting firms in the country, and FDI, a local firm providing specialized tax consulting for high net worth individuals.He is a member of the

American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Missouri Society of Public Accountants, and the Kansas Society of Public Accountants.
